Axis 1: Social use of ICTs. Our research focuses on the understanding of the relationship between human beings (individually and collectively) and technical innovation. The technical dimension is central to our inquiry.
Axis 2: Language and real-life experience of ICTs. We study the impact of recent advances in cognitive science – including the discovery of the profoundly implicit and embodied dimension of knowledge and communication – on the evaluation and conception of ICTs.
Axis 1. The notion of use is to be understood in the broad sense of the term. This generic term includes the question of meaning at work, of representations of the world and of ways of being together. To understand a use is to understand the global context the latter operates in.
Axis 2. There are two approaches in our research: the analysis of true-life experience (elicitation interviews, phenomenological descriptions of experiences in the first person) and speech analysis (research and analysis of linguistic markers carrying implicit corpus particularly in scientific texts).
